Biography


Dawn holds a degree in EC Education and after years of teaching, she landed herself in the museum field 17 years ago. She is a certified ADA Coordinator, LGBTQ+ Ally, and DEI Practitioner. Dawn has an excellent reputation within the fields of education, accessibility, inclusion, memory loss, and connecting cultural organizations to those audiences through training, conference presentations, and serving on various professional groups and boards. Her work is focused on making museum practices accessible and inclusive for all, from staff retention to program accommodations and internal policies. Dawn has been awarded the Facilitator of the Year from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the Emerging Leader award from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Arts, and a NextGen Executive Leadership selection from the Getty Leadership Institute. She is also an integral part of the SPARK! Alliance, training museums and nature centers around the country on implementing a program for individuals with memory loss and their caregivers.
