Biography


Marcy joined the Great Lakes ADA Center, one of ten regional centers of the ADA National Network, in April of 2021 and coordinates the Trainer Leadership Network (TLN) program for the Great Lakes region. She also develops and conducts training on various aspects of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and provides technical assistance on the ADA for the Center. Marcy has over twenty-five years of experience in the disability field. Her experience includes evaluating employees for reasonable accommodations, serving as a compliance officer of disability laws for a university, addressing physical and electronic access barriers, developing, and conducting disability-related training to a variety of audiences, working with veterans, and providing vocational guidance and counseling to individuals with disabilities. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor who has worked in State and Federal Government Rehabilitation Services. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Purdue University and graduated with her master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Prior to joining the Great Lakes ADA Center, Marcy served as chairperson for the ADA-Indiana Steering Committee, a statewide resource for promoting the implementation of the ADA, for 7 years during her 13-year participation. Additionally, she has and continues to serve on numerous disability and diversity committees.
