Dawn Wenderski
Sergeant - Corrections Division
Stearns County Sheriff's Office
Biography
I have been with the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office since I was 15. I started as a Volunteer Explorer, which is like a reserve officer. Over the years, I have worked for Stearns County Sheriff’s in the following capacities. Water Patrol Officer, Court Bailiff, Correctional Officer, Jail Sergeant, and my current role as the jail’s Program Sergeant. I support the program’s team in creating and providing programming to the inmate population while they are in custody. Our mission within this team is to offer services and provide tools to these individuals while they are incarcerated. The final goal is to reduce recidivism and establish a solid foundation for the incarcerated individual to start from when they are released back into the community. I currently hold the role of our division’s ADA Coordinator. This role can be trying but also very rewarding, as I like, a continuous challenge to think differently and improve a situation when I can.
