Biography

Jenifer Montag, Ed.D., NIC, CRC, is the inaugural Associate Director of Rehabilitation with the National Center for College Students with Disabilities (NCCSD) through AHEAD and the Institute on Community Integration (ICI) at the University of Minnesota. In addition to recently completing her doctorate (Ed.D.), she also has her certificate of rehabilitation counseling (CRC) and the RID NIC certificate. Previously, she was the inaugural director of disability services / ADA coordinator at Marion Technical College (MTC) for almost six years, and has over 20 years of experience in postsecondary disability service provision, at a variety of higher education institutions including a large doctoral university and two community colleges (one medium sized, one large). She has also been fortunate to have taught graduate, undergraduate, and community college classes. Most recently, the highlight of her professional career was facilitating disability services, including ASL interpreters, real-time captioning, and ALDs, for students enrolled in the community college classes at two state prisons. Along with facilitating these complex accommodations in the highly constrained prison environment, she has also been fortunate to be able to teach the college’s First Year Experience class to students enrolled in the prison education program.
