ADA Enforcement and Steps You Can Take Before You File an ADA Complaint

Description

There are many steps that a person can take prior to filing an ADA complaint to resolve a disability discrimination issue. During this session, we will discuss these steps and talk about the process for filing an ADA complaint with the various federal agencies that enforce the ADA. Participants will have an opportunity to ask the speaker questions following the presentation.

Questions for presenters:

1 What are courts responsibilities to assist litigants with disabilities who need legal representation in a civil case given civil litigants cannot be appointed one, only criminal defendants warrant appointment of counsel, according to the 2nd district appellate and 23rd circuit. Aren't there reasonable accommodations that can be granted even if they are discretionary?
