Athletic Opportunities for Students with Disabilities: Focus on Colleges and Universities

Description

This special session is being offered in collaboration with the Institute for Human Centered Design in response to the recent guidance provided by the Office for Civil Rights clarifying public elementary and secondary schools obligations under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to provide extracurricular athletic opportunities for students with disabilities. The session will provide attendees with practical advice on how colleges and universities can better integrate students with disabilities into mainstream athletic programs and as well as how to create adapted programs.
